In NS Co-operative Hospital the Department of Pathology has a fully-fledged state-of-the-art laboratory offering a full gamut of diagnostic services in a variety of subspecialties. These are Histopathology, Cytopathology, Haematology, Clinical Pathology, Biochemistry and Immunology.
The department is headed by a person known as the Director of Laboratory Services who is served by a cadre of highly trained consultants, experienced technical and support staff whose role revolves around accurate diagnosis and patient care.
The department performs a vast amount of diagnostic specimens annually, utilizing the laboratory workload of both in-house patients, and also those referred to the division.
The laboratory is fully integrated with the Hospital Information System (HIS), ensuring timely and seamless delivery of diagnostic reports to clinicians, thereby enhancing patient care and clinical decision-making.
To maintain the highest standards of quality, the department actively participates in stringent internal and external quality assurance programs.
