Owned and operated by the Kollam District Cooperative Hospital Society, this remarkable institution reflects a vision where healthcare is not just a service, but a commitment to humanity.
At N.S. Health City, the focus goes far beyond treatment. Here, healthcare is approached holistically—with initiatives spanning disease prevention, geriatric and palliative care, medical research, training, health education, medicine production, and social outreach. The society proves that cooperatives can make a real and lasting difference in people’s lives.
Every year, more than seven lakh patients turn to N.S. Health City for care. With a unique blend of allopathic and Ayurvedic systems, patients are offered the best of both worlds. The institutions under the society are named in honor of Comrade N. Sreedharan (N.S.), a revered humanitarian and Communist leader whose legacy lives on through this noble initiative.
Today, the society runs eight institutions, powered by the dedication of 1,750 employees, including 160 doctors. What makes this cooperative stand out is not just its scale, but its sustainability. With a paid-up capital of ₹145 crore and consistent dividend distribution since 2010-11, it stands proudly as the only cooperative hospital society in Kerala to achieve such financial strength.
