Born from the vision of the Kollam District Cooperative Hospital Society Ltd No. Q952, NSMIMS is Southern Kerala’s first specialty cooperative hospital. We began our journey on 17th February 2006, with a clear mission: to bring the 'care' back into healthcare. Our hospital was built in loving memory of Com. N. Sreedharan, a respected politician and humanitarian affectionately known as “N.S.” We strive every day to honor his legacy—with dedication, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to the community.
Our hospital is governed by an eleven-member executive body, operating under the rules and ethics of the Cooperative Department. We’re not just guided by policies—we're guided by people, and by the belief that every patient deserves dignity, affordable care, and kindness.
What started as a small cooperative dream has grown into one of Kerala’s most respected medical institutions. Today, NSMIMS is a 500+ bedded multispecialty hospital.

We are proud to say that more than 1,500 people visit our outpatient department every day, making us the second-largest OPD in Kollam, next only to the District Hospital. Every year, over 7 lakh patients place their trust in us—proof that NSMIMS has become a symbol of trusted healthcare across the state.
N.S. Cooperative Hospital has received membership in the International Co-operative Alliance (ICA) and (IHCO) International Health Cooperative Organisation
This is the second cooperative society from Kerala and the 18th from India to receive membership in the ICA , and first hospital in India to get membership in IHCO

At NSMIMS, affordability is a promise. Our treatment costs are 30% lower than neighboring hospitals, and we offer special discounts for economically weaker sections (AAY)—a 30% discount on hospital bills (excluding medicines) and 10% off on all medicines. Because we believe that no one should be denied care because of cost.
