
N.S Co-operative Hospital was established in eternal memory of this great benefactor While a student, N. Sreedharan actively participated in the freedom struggle movement. He was an eternal fountain of organizational brilliance and zeal.
N.S.Sreedharan, popularly known as N.S throughout the state, was one of the early organizers who made a unique contribution in making the communist movement a strong political force in Travancore. He was a revolutionary who testified his faith with his own life. He worked as a CPI(M) district secretary at Alappuzha & Kollam and a member of State Secretariat for a long time. Through his actions, N.S convinced he importance of becoming one of the people by involving in their joys and sorrows. N. Sreedharan died in a car accident near Kottarakara on 17th February 1985.
N.S. Cooperative Hospital has received membership in the International Co-operative Alliance (ICA) and (IHCO) International Health Cooperative Organisation
This is the second cooperative society from Kerala and the 18th from India to receive membership in the ICA , and first hospital in India to get membership in IHCO
