The department provide services to all types of critically ill patients affected by life threatening injuries and illnesses. The department is managed by a multi disciplinary team of ICU Physicians, Nursing staff, Respiratory Therapists, Clinical Nutrition team, Rehabilitation team, Clinical Pharmacists, Nurse Educator and Clinical Coordinators. The department extends it’s service outside the ICUs where the team runs the Rapid Response Services. In the department state of the art technology allows monitoring and supporting of cardiovascular, respiratory and renal system.

The department is equipped with mechanical ventilators, Non Invasive Ventilators, High Flow Nasal Cannula, Sonography including Transcranial Doppler, Fibre Optic Bronchoscopy and Renal Replacement Therapy. It provides specialised intensive care services which include cardiac critical care, neuro critical care, trauma critical care and services to post operative patients. Quality and Safety of patients is ensured through collecting and analysing experience of patients, clinical and process audits, monitoring performance indicators, risk management and competency improvement programs.
The department is accredited by National Board of Examinations for conducting Dr NB in Critical Care Medicine.
